Welcome to Little Shed Counselling

My name is Colette Eaton and I'm the owner of Little Shed.   I've been told I am a really good listener - a useful skill for a counsellor!

I've worked with people, in residential care, day services and education, for over 30 years and I've learned that people do best when they they feel valued, heard and understood.

Counselling isn't just for people with 'huge problems'.   Counselling offers a calm moment in a hectic day to work out your priorities and next steps.

Why 'Little Shed' Counselling?

Carl Rogers (the founder of modern counselling) told a story about little potatoes stored in darkness in his father's shed which had sprouted towards the light. He suggested that if potatoes could thrive in poor conditions, imagine what people could achieve given the core conditions of genuineness, acceptance and empathy.
(This is one of my favourite stories!)

So, I wanted to offer my 'little shed' - not a shed as such, but a comfortable and safe space for you to identify and work on the issues that stop you from thriving.
